The core mission and work of the Foundation is based on and guided by universal human rights standards and norms, and the Foundation is managed according to governing principles based on good governance, independence, transparency and accountability, collaboration, solidarity, non-discrimination and non-violence.
Beyond the statutes, various internal policy documents refer to these standards applied by the Foundation, including:

The Foundation also established an External Complaint Reporting Mechanism that aims at giving a voice to victims and witnesses of misconduct by providing them with a tool to report abuse cases or concerns in a safe manner. This mechanism has been established to assist the Foundation in promoting good governance and accountability, creating trust, and identifying possible improvements to the implementation of its activities.
